Mapfre Re hosted the Mapfre Reinsurance Day 2026, a key event that brought together leading international reinsurers and brokers to share the evolution of the Group’s global reinsurance protection framework.
Under the motto Building Together, the session reviewed the main milestones of a model that has now reached 12 years and has demonstrated its consistency in terms of sustainability, profitability, and resilience across different market cycles.
In this context, the strategic review process driven by the Deep Reinsurance Review project was presented, aimed at strengthening the framework and adapting it to a changing environment, in line with the Group’s broader transformation.
The session included contributions from Manuel Aguilera, General Manager of Mapfre Economics, who provided a perspective on the current complex geopolitical environment. Eduardo Pérez de Lema, CEO of the International Insurance Unit, and Jaime Tamayo, CEO of the North America Unit, shared insights into the current situation and outlook of the businesses under their responsibility.
From Mapfre Re, Miguel Rosa, CEO of Mapfre Re, together with José López, Head of Group Business, and Javier Sada and Gonzalo Wesolowski, both part of the Group Business team, provided a more detailed explanation of the review of the Group’s reinsurance protection framework, highlighting both its effectiveness to date and its profitability for the partners supporting the scheme.
The event reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and a long-term perspective as key pillars of the Group’s reinsurance model.
