Daniel Quermia participates in the XXXVIII edition of ENTRE

The 38th edition of ENTRE 2020 addressed relevant issues for reinsurers, ceding companies and brokers and took place virtually from 30 September to 2 October.

Daniel Quermia, from MAPFRE RE; Carlos García, from SCOR SE; Susana Belén Pérez, from SWISS RE; Rosa Haddak, from Ultimate Risk Solutions; and Christ López, from C Consulting, participated in the presentation on the Ruschlikon initiative.

The presentation covered the fundamental aspects of the initiative, beginning with the projection of a video that illustrated how ACORD’s standards redefine the processes in the reinsurance industry, from the underwriting of the contract to the settlement of balances, including the entire administration phase and the tasks inherent therein.

The mission of the Ruschlikon initiative is to reshape the reinsurance industry, modernize and digitize it, designing and implementing processes that reduce operating costs and improve customer service, increasing the speed, quality and integrity of information.

In the section on Ruschlikon’s different regional implementation groups that exist, the experience of the Italian group was briefly shared, and then the Spanish implementation group was discussed in more detail.

The presentation included a system of live surveys, which allowed participants to know and share different questions such as, for example, what importance they gave to the automation of processes in the reinsurance industry, or if they considered that their companies were ready to start using these communication standards.

Daniel Quermia closed the presentation, conveying the message that Ruschlikon is an initiative developed “by the market and for the market”, because “together we transform the industry”.
