MAPFRE RE’s contribution to Group earnings totaled 245 million euros, 70.6% better than the previous year.
In 2023, MAPFRE RE delivered premium volume of 7.86 billion euros, up 8.8% on 2022, with significant improvements recorded both in the reinsurance business (7.8%) and global risks (12.2).
This impressive performance shines all the brighter when we consider that it includes the impact of two relevant catastrophic events – the earthquake in Turkey and hurricane Otis in Mexico, which had a combined impact of 153 million euros.
